Key Administrative Staff
Don Grimes

Don is our Program director, having moved up the ranks over the years from coach to Commissioner to now heading our daily programming. He has retired as head coach of Medway High School to give more time to his position as the School’s Intervention Officer and to officiating. Don is an imposing figure at 6’5” and is respected by staff for his knowledge of the game and his willingness to help. Players had best be nice to Don as he may be doing one of your games this year!!!!
Darnell Myers
Everyone who has ever been to the Red Auerbach School, remembers Darnell. He is a strong and outspoken personality, loved by the staff and the players. He has been with our program for over 20 years and is currently the Commissioner of our College Division. He was an assistant to John Thompson at Georgetown University and is currently the Varsity Assistant Coach and Head Coach of
the J.V program at Springbook High
School in Maryland.
Alik Taylor
Alik
is a resident of Hyannis on Cape Cod were he teaches history
at Barnstable High School and
is the Head Women's Coach at Dennis-Yarmouth High School. Alik
is
a great clinician, and teacher. He heads up our College Division
along with Darnell and is a great asset to our staff in sharing
information and knowledge of the game.

Pete Cavari
Pete comes to us from Ft. Lauderdale
where he coached three sports and was selected as the Florida
Coach of the Year. He has retired as assistant principal, and coach at South Plantation High School. He is a real taskmaster and a great stats guy as he serves as Co-Commissioner of the Pro Division.
Doug
Pasquerella:
Doug
returned to his first love, coaching at the high school level. He resigned as Head Coach at the State University of New York in New Paltz. to return to Homer High School as Head Coach and Physical Education teacher.
Can it be possible to make stretching and exercise fun? Just give
the microphone
to Doug and get out of the way. He wakes everyone up each morning
with his workouts and helps to start us off on a positive
note.
He is a league commissioner dealing with records,
standing, rosters, and compliance.
Jamal Coleman:
Jamal comes to us from Philadelphia where he coaches on a junior high school level. More important to the Auerbach School is the fact that, as a board certified official, Jamal serves as our Director of Officials. He assigns our counselor staff, makes sure all games start and end on time, and that our staff hustles to make the right calls to ensure good and fair competition.
Key Coaching Staff
Floyd Butler
Floyd has been with the Auerbach School for many years and has had a powerful influence on lots of his players. Floyd is from Philadelphia, and though he cheers for the wrong pro teams we still love him at camp. He is now the Head Coach at Springfield Township High School in Pennsylvania.
Donald Morris

Donald is a local guy from Somerville, MA where he excelled as a multi-sport athlete. He is without reservation, one of our more popular coaches and our campers all really want to be able to play for Donald. He is a strong motivator, very good with x’s and o’s and a very good teacher. Donald is currently and assistant Coach at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.

Jim Morse
Jim is respectfully referred to as “Van Gundy” for his pro coach look-alike. Jim is a veteran at the Auerbach School and also a coach at the Hoop Group’s Cape Cod camps. Jim coaches in the Norwell public school system where he also is a math teacher. He is an integral part of the camp program and a friend to all our participants and staff.
Joe Pierpeoli
Joe is a graduate of our school. He attended camp when he was in high school and after the required time off, we were able to bring him back as an official/counselor. He quickly showed his coaching talents and he was moved to our pro division where he has one league titles and is always in the hunt. Joe spent many seasons coaching at RI Community College and this year has taken a position coaching at the St. Andrews School, a highly regarded prep school in Barrington, RI.
Preston Beverely
A big man, coach Beverely is an assistant coach at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME. Previously on staff with Doug Pasquerella, 2007 was Preston's first season at the Auerbach school. He impressed kids and coaches alike with his knowledge of the game and his ability to get the most out of his players.
Michael Coleman
Michael comes all the way from Albuquerque, NM to work at the Auerbach School. He is a super coach with great rapport with his players who give him 100% because they can see that is what he gives to them. It's a long way for Mike to come, but it is an indication of the dedication our staff has to our program. He is also the camp dance master with hip hop moves that the pros would die for!
Jason Rojee
Jason has been with our program for over 5 years now and has become a real threat to take his team to the finals every year. He is currently a History teacher and Head Basketball Coach at Medway High School in Massachusetts. In his "spare" time he also coaches the Women's Soccer Team at Medway High. In 2007, both his teams won their league championships! He is a terrific and talented coach and we are proud to have him as part of our staff..
